The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) is ramping up for the 2020 season. With the league as exciting as its ever been, there are a lot of competitive players on the circuit. However, there are only a few that stand out above the rest. Here are the top-3 women who will be setting the tone next season.

#3 – Serena Williams

With an all-time singles record of 826-142, Serena Williams has been one of the most dominant players of her generation and in the history of tennis. Currently, Serena owns 23 major titles. This is 2nd all-time behind the great Margaret Smith Court, who has 24. In 2020, Serena will look to match and overtake the major’s record. With her aggressive tennis style, Williams always has a chance to win, even at 38-years-old.

#2 – Naomi Osaka

The 22-year-old Japanese phenomenon is looking for more singles title successes in 2020. Naomi Osaka has been able to accumulate 5 titles to date and a #1 ranking in 2019. She won her first Australian Open in 2019 bringing her major count up to 2, with a U.S. Open victory in 2018. As an aggressive baseliner, Osaka uses her forehand to take down her opponents.

Ashleigh Barty finished 2019 as the world #1 and looks to continue the trend in 2020. Barty won her first major at Roland Garros in 2019 and looks to add to her spoils next season. She also won at Miami, Birmingham, and the WTA Finals to finish her year strong.
